Common Questions
Q: How many NFB sessions will I need?
A: Most conditions improve within 10 sessions, however a minimum of 20 sessions will be necessary for a lasting benefit. Some diagnoses such as Aspergers, autism and attachment disorders will require ongoing NFB sessions over a longer period.

Q: How often should I do NFB sessions?
A: We recommend at least two sessions a week when you first start NFB training. Once the benefits are reliable, a training schedule of once a week may be enough.

Q: What is a typical NFB session?
A: We attach electrodes to specific sites on your scalp depending on what problem we are addressing. Then you “play” a video game for 20-30 minutes.

Q: Is there an ideal age for neurofeedback?
A: We have worked with children as young as 3 years old to address sleep, emotional regulation and attachment issues. All age groups benefit from neurofeedback for clinical or peak performance goals. Increasingly, the senior population is using NFB to keep memory sharp.

Q: What neurofeedback technologies do you use?
A: Our practice uses Smart Brain Games, Neurocybernetics, HEG/Bioexplorer, Brainmaster and Roshi systems. We use EEG amplitude training to address most conditions, and EEG coherence training to address learning disorders.

Q: What home-training options are available?
A: After completing an appropriate number of in-office sessions to determine effective training sites and settings, purchase or lease options are available using Smart Brain Games, Neurocybernetics or HEG/Bioexplorer systems. Supervised home-training programs include monthly in-office consultations.

Q: What are your office hours?
A: • Monday through Thursday: 12:00p.m.-7:00 p.m. • The first Saturday of the month: 9:00a.m.-2:00 p.m.
